Nigerian striker Akor Adams is on the verge of completing a move to newly promoted Italian side Venezia after the club reached an agreement with Sevilla for his transfer.
The 26-year-old is expected to undergo his medical examination this weekend before completing the move to the Serie A side.
The transfer agreement between both clubs is reportedly valued at €16 million, with Sevilla set to receive the full fee once the deal is completed.
As part of the transfer process, Adams has been left out of Sevilla’s squad for Sunday’s pre-season friendly against Polish club Wisła Kraków, a move that clears the way for his exit from the Spanish side.
Information available to DailyInsightNG indicates that the Super Eagles forward is expected to link up with Giovanni Stroppa’s squad early next week as Venezia continue preparations for the new campaign.
Venezia secured promotion back to Italy’s top flight last season and have begun strengthening their squad ahead of their return to Serie A.
For Adams, the move presents another opportunity to establish himself in one of Europe’s leading leagues after his spell in Spain.
The transfer is expected to be completed once the player successfully passes his medical and final contractual formalities are concluded.
