Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has predicted that the team which emerges victorious in the highly anticipated 2026 FIFA World Cup semi-final between France and Spain will go on to win the tournament.
Courtois made the remark after Belgium’s World Cup campaign came to an end following a narrow quarter-final defeat to Spain.
Spain secured their place in the last four thanks to a decisive goal from substitute Mikel Merino, who struck the winner to send La Roja into a blockbuster semi-final clash against France.

“Who gets the win in Spain-France, gets the World Cup,” the Belgian goalkeeper said.
