Popular Nollywood actor Owolabi Ajasa has dismissed reports circulating on social media that he is dead, assuring fans that he is alive and in good health.
The actor, widely recognised for portraying police officers in Yoruba movies and known for his catchphrase, “Ta lo pa chief,” responded after an obituary poster bearing his name went viral online.
In a video shared on his Instagram page, Ajasa described the reports as false and urged fans not to believe the misinformation spreading across social media platforms.
“I’m still much alive in good health,” the actor said while addressing his followers.
He also condemned those responsible for circulating the fake obituary, expressing disappointment over the spread of false information about him and other entertainers.
“To everyone posting my obituary around, I’m saying back to the sender to you and your family.
“Good day everyone, my name still remains Owolabi Ajasa, your Nollywood police officer. I want to tell all my fans both in Nigeria and abroad that I’m still much alive. I’m alive hale and hearty. There’s nothing wrong with me,” he said.

False reports about the deaths of celebrities have become increasingly common on social media, often causing unnecessary panic among fans, family members and colleagues before the claims are debunked.
Ajasa’s response has reassured his supporters, many of whom flooded his social media pages with messages expressing relief after watching the video.
