Nigerian Afrobeat singer Ayra Starr has disclosed that she is currently recovering from a complex surgical operation.
She revealed the information on Thursday evening, when addressing her admirers about her departure on social media.
An online news platform reports that Ayra Starr had been absent from social media for about a week before resurfacing on Wednesday.
Explaining her absence, the singer revealed in a post on her Instagram Story on Thursday that she had undergone a major surgery that turned out to be more complicated than expected.
Apologising to her fans for her sudden disappearance, she said she needed additional rest and assured them she would be back soon.
She told her fans she was sorry they hadn’t been seeing much of her lately, explaining that she had major surgery a few days prior.
She said she had hoped for a quick recovery, but the procedure proved more complicated than anticipated, and that she just needed some rest before returning.
She added that her upcoming project, Starrgirl, was coming very soon.
