Air Peace Completes Fourth Evacuation Of Nigerians From South Africa With 284 Repatriated, Total Now 1,085

Air Peace has completed the fourth phase of its humanitarian evacuation operation from South Africa, bringing home another 284 Nigerian nationals amid ongoing xenophobic attacks, in collaboration with the Federal Government.

The latest evacuation flight, operated with the airline’s Boeing 777-200 wide-body aircraft, marks the successful completion of four humanitarian missions that have now returned a total of 1,085 Nigerians to the country.

In a statement, the airline said the latest operation underscores its commitment to supporting national emergency response efforts by providing safe and seamless transportation for Nigerians affected by the recent wave of xenophobic violence in South Africa.

“West Africa’s largest airline and Nigeria’s premier carrier, Air Peace, has successfully completed the fourth phase of its humanitarian evacuation operation from South Africa, safely bringing home another 284 Nigerian nationals in collaboration with the Federal Government of Nigeria,” the airline said.

Air Peace disclosed that with the completion of the latest mission, it has repatriated 1,085 Nigerians across four evacuation flights, having previously airlifted 262 Nigerians on June 11, 271 on June 30, 268 on July 3 and 284 on July 9.

The airline said the achievement demonstrates its readiness to deploy its fleet and operational capabilities whenever required in the national interest.

“With the successful completion of today’s mission, Air Peace has now safely repatriated 1,085 Nigerians across four humanitarian evacuation flights… The milestone further reinforces the airline’s enduring readiness to deploy its fleet and operational capabilities in the service of the nation whenever duty calls,” the statement added.

Air Peace described the evacuation exercise as more than an airlift, saying it reflects the airline’s humanitarian philosophy built on compassion, patriotism and a commitment to ensuring Nigerians can always return home safely during times of crisis.

The carrier also highlighted its track record in humanitarian operations, noting that it has undertaken more than 16 evacuation and relief missions across Africa and beyond since commencing operations, supporting emergency repatriations, humanitarian crises and other national interventions.
