Omotayo Sanusi, the former wife of Nollywood actor Femi Adebayo, has publicly addressed the collapse of their marriage, dismissing long-standing rumours that actresses Toyin Abraham and Funke Akindele played any role in the breakdown of the union.
In a statement shared on her Instagram page, Omotayo refuted claims that Toyin Abraham informed her that another actress was romantically involved with her then-husband while they were on a movie set, insisting the allegations were entirely false.
She stressed that she never confronted, attacked, assaulted or harassed anyone on any film location, contrary to reports that have circulated over the years.
“I have deliberately chosen not to publicly respond to the many false stories and allegations surrounding my marriage. However, because these narratives continue to spread and are being presented as facts, I believe it is necessary to address one of them,” she wrote.
According to Omotayo, the allegation that Toyin Abraham was responsible for the problems in her marriage by allegedly informing her about another actress was fabricated.
“For the record, I never confronted, attacked, assaulted, or harassed any woman or man at any movie location. No such incident ever took place,” she stated.

The entrepreneur further disclosed that she was actively involved in the production referenced in the rumours, revealing that she remained on set throughout the filming period and contributed significantly to the success of the project.
She explained that her team was responsible for catering to more than 500 cast and crew members for over a month as part of her support for her then-husband’s production.
Omotayo challenged anyone who claimed to have been attacked or harassed by her during the production to publicly come forward with evidence.
“I was present on that production from the very beginning until the end of the shoot. My team and I were solely responsible for the welfare of the entire production, catering for over 500 cast and crew members for more than one month as my contribution and support to my then-partner.
“I believe it is only fair that if anyone genuinely claims to have been attacked by me—directly or indirectly—they should come forward and say so themselves. Until then, I respectfully ask that people stop repeating and amplifying false narratives that have no basis in truth,” she added.
Addressing her decision to remain silent for years, Omotayo said it was motivated by a desire to maintain peace and respect for everyone involved, rather than an admission of wrongdoing.
She maintained that her silence had been misinterpreted and said she decided to speak out only because the allegations continued to gain traction as though they were established facts.
“I have remained silent out of respect for everyone involved and because I chose peace over public disputes. However, my silence should never be interpreted as an admission that these allegations are true.
“This statement serves as my official clarification on this particular allegation. I sincerely hope it brings an end to the continued circulation of this false narrative.”
She also criticised those she accused of promoting falsehoods about her personal life, arguing that attempts to set the record straight are often met with criticism.
“It’s amazing how some people have no problem sponsoring lies, promoting falsehoods, and amplifying damaging narratives about someone’s life. But the moment that person decides to speak up, present the truth, or correct the record, they’re suddenly accused of ‘doing too much,’” she said.
Although Omotayo did not disclose the specific reasons behind the end of her marriage to Femi Adebayo, her statement represents her first detailed public response to persistent speculation linking prominent Nollywood actresses to the collapse of the relationship.
