‘You have failed Nigerians’ – Bala Mohammed slams FG over abductions

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has criticised the Federal Government over the escalating insecurity in the country, declaring that it has failed the people.

Speaking during a visit to Oyo State on Sunday to console Governor Seyi Makinde over the abduction of teachers and pupils in the Ogbomosho area, the governor also prayed for the swift and safe return of the victims, who have been held by bandits and kidnappers for more than a month.

Mohammed commended Governor Makinde for what he described as bold steps towards recovering and reuniting the children and teachers with their families. He praised Makinde as “a young man with immense energy, determined to do things differently and take the nation to greater heights.”

The Bauchi governor appealed to security agencies to redouble their efforts in securing the victims’ release and protecting the lives and property of Nigerians. He also urged citizens to remain security-conscious and act as their own first line of defence, given the alarming rise in criminal activity.

Senator Bala Mohammed further called on Nigerians to elect leaders with the people’s welfare at heart, expressing regret that the current administration had failed to tackle the growing insecurity that continues to expose citizens to grave danger.
