A Christian non-denominational fellowship, When Women Pray (WWP), FESTAC Chapter, has urged female students of FESTAC Girls Senior Grammar School to embrace chastity and avoid negative influences that could hinder their future.
The fellowship gave the advice during a school outreach programme organised on Wednesday in Lagos as part of efforts to support indigent students in public schools.
The group donated 50 schoolbags, 50 pairs of school sandals, notebooks and other stationery items to needy students.
Speaking at the event, the Pastor and Coordinator of WWP, FESTAC Chapter, Mrs Kikelomo Balogun, urged the students to remain focused on their education and life goals.
Balogun said the outreach was aimed at extending God’s love to the students while encouraging them to make responsible choices.
She advised them to shun negative vices and pursue their dreams with determination.
“As good citizens of Nigeria, we want you not only to make your families proud but also to contribute to the socio-economic development of the country by achieving your goals.
“There is nothing you cannot achieve when you are determined and pursue your aspirations without distractions.
“Our charge to you is to remain focused and become the best in your chosen fields,” she said.
In her remarks, the school’s Principal, Mrs Bolawole Funsho, appreciated the fellowship for the outreach and donations.
Funsho urged the students to imbibe the values shared during the programme and avoid making wrong choices.
“We appreciate you for coming to encourage and sensitise our students.
“We are grateful for the schoolbags, shoes, notebooks and stationery provided for the indigent students among us.
“We hope the students will apply the lessons learnt and make decisions that will positively impact their future,” she said. (NAN)
