The United States launched air strikes on southern Iran early Thursday, triggering explosions in several major cities across the country.
Iranian media reported that five projectiles struck a site in the Kargan area of Minab city, located in southern Iran.
Additional explosions were reported in Bandar Abbas, while air defence systems were activated following blasts in Jask, Qeshm, and Sirik, all situated in Hormozgan Province.
The strikes came as the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that American forces had commenced additional self-defence operations targeting multiple locations within Iran.
According to CENTCOM, the military action was authorised by President Donald Trump in response to what the US described as Iran’s continued aggression.
