Troops Recover 7 Rifles, Motorcycles in Delta Operation

Troops of the Headquarters 63 Brigade/Sector 1 Joint Task Force, South South Operation DELTA SAFE, have recovered seven rifles and two motorcycles during a raid operation in Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.

The recovery was made on June 4 following actionable intelligence received by the troops as part of ongoing efforts to curb criminal activities in the state.

According to the military, the weapons and motorcycles were discovered in an abandoned police station within the Ibusa community during the operation.

Commander of the 63 Brigade, Brig.-Gen. Moronfolu Abdulmoshood Shonibare, commended the troops for what he described as their resilience and professionalism in the conduct of the operation.

He urged the personnel to sustain the current operational momentum and continue mounting pressure on criminal elements operating within the brigade’s area of responsibility.

Shonibare reaffirmed the military formation’s commitment to denying criminals freedom of action and ensuring a secure environment for residents across the area.

He also warned individuals and groups involved in unlawful activities or harbouring illegal arms that they would face the full weight of the law.

The recovery forms part of ongoing operations by troops of Operation DELTA SAFE aimed at combating criminality and enhancing security across the South-South region.
