Troops Nab 5 Suspected Kidnappers, Recover AK-47 Rifles in Borno
Troops of the Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, have arrested five suspected kidnappers and recovered two AK-47 rifles, magazines and ammunition during a targeted operation in Magumeri Local Government Area of Borno State.
The operation, conducted on the basis of credible intelligence, was carried out along a known criminal corridor in the area. Military authorities said the suspects are believed to be members of a kidnapping syndicate that has been terrorising residents and other civilians within the locality.
According to the military, the troops executed a coordinated raid that led to the arrest of the five suspects and the recovery of weapons and ammunition. The seizure is expected to significantly weaken the operational capacity of the criminal group and prevent further violent activities.
Preliminary investigations have linked the suspects to kidnapping and other criminal acts in parts of Borno State. Security sources disclosed that the suspects are currently in custody and are assisting investigators with information aimed at tracking down other members of the syndicate and dismantling its support network.
The military described the operation as part of ongoing efforts by Operation HADIN KAI to sustain pressure on terrorists, kidnappers and other criminal elements operating in the North-East.
The successful raid, according to military authorities, underscores the Nigerian Army’s commitment to protecting lives and property while maintaining offensive operations against threats to national security.
Operation HADIN KAI reiterated its resolve to continue working towards the restoration of lasting peace, security and stability across the country.
