President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji following his victory in the state’s governorship election.
Tinubu described the result as a strong endorsement of continuity, stability and governance focused on the people.
The President gave the message after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the election.

Tinubu praised residents of Ekiti State for conducting themselves peacefully during the election process.
He also appreciated security agencies for maintaining order throughout the exercise.
The President urged INEC to continue working towards credible and transparent elections as the country prepares for future polls, including the Osun governorship election and the next general election.
Oyebanji makes Ekiti history
According to Tinubu, Oyebanji’s victory makes him the first governor in Ekiti State’s history to secure re-election for a second consecutive term.
The President highlighted areas including infrastructure, agriculture, youth employment, education, healthcare and rural development as key parts of Oyebanji’s first-term administration.
He said the renewed mandate reflects public support for the governor’s leadership approach.
“The renewed mandate is therefore a clear vote of confidence in continuity, stability, and people-centred governance,” Tinubu said in a statement issued through his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga.
