Nollywood veterans Segun Arinze and Jerry Amilo have reacted to renewed concerns about the wellbeing of their colleague, actor Hanks Anuku, following a video circulating online.
The video, which surfaced on social media, showed Anuku sitting on a road in Wuse 2, Abuja, while appearing to talk to himself and holding a disposable cup.
The clip sparked reactions from Nigerians, with many expressing concern over the actor’s condition.
Colleagues clarify situation
Responding to the discussion, Arinze and Amilo said the video being shared online was not recent.
The actors made the clarification in the comment section of an Instagram post discussing the video.
Arinze wrote that the footage was an old video, while Amilo urged people to stop sharing what he described as harmful claims about their colleague.
Previous concerns about actor’s wellbeing
The latest reactions come after earlier public discussions about Hanks Anuku’s personal struggles.
In 2023, the actor spoke about his battle with depression and linked it to challenges he experienced, including issues surrounding alcohol use.
