Popular Hausa singer Dauda Adamu Kahutu, better known as Rarara, has criticised Afrobeats star Davido over his comments and actions concerning insecurity in Nigeria.
Rarara said public figures should be careful when discussing security challenges, arguing that such issues should not be used as political tools.
He made the remarks while reacting to Davido’s appearance at a 2026 FIFA World Cup countdown concert, where the singer wore a shirt highlighting the names of abducted schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State.
Singer warns against political use of security issues
Rarara argued that displaying messages about insecurity on an international platform could affect Nigeria’s image.
According to him, security matters require caution and should not become part of political campaigns or public disputes.
He said turning security challenges into political discussions could create more problems and distract from efforts to address the issues.
Rarara questions Davido’s motive
The singer alleged that Davido’s action was politically influenced, claiming it was aimed at supporting political interests while criticising the current administration.
However, Davido has maintained that Nigerians should not stay silent about security challenges and that citizens have the right to speak on issues affecting the country.

Rarara urged celebrities and online personalities to consider the wider impact of their statements when discussing sensitive national matters.
He added that while citizens can express concerns about insecurity, conversations should be handled in a way that does not harm national interests.
