“Proposal gone wrong” — Moment man proposes to a lady he met just 5 days ago at NYSC camp
A proposal attempt at a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp has sparked widespread reactions online after a viral video showed a young man kneeling to propose to a lady he reportedly met just five days earlier.
According to details shared alongside the video, the pair met during the ongoing NYSC orientation programme.
The man, apparently eager to take their relationship to the next level, decided to publicly express his feelings by presenting an engagement ring and asking the lady to marry him.
However, the proposal did not go as planned.
Lady ignores proposal attempt
In the video, the man is seen kneeling with the ring while the lady continues with what she is doing, appearing to pay little attention to him.
Despite remaining on one knee for several seconds in an apparent bid to get her attention, his efforts yielded no response.
Moments later, the lady walked away, leaving him still kneeling as onlookers watched the scene unfold.
The clip has since gained traction across social media platforms, attracting a flood of comments from users who shared differing opinions on the failed proposal.
Social media users react
Reacting to the video, Lawrence criticised the man’s decision, writing: “The lady should have slapped him for trying to embarrass her in public with his 2k ring. How can you even propose to someone just after 5days of meeting them.”
Akinjayeju also questioned the move, saying: “Una no get better oraimo cord make una help me wipe ham one for neck, maybe he would comeback to his senses.”
Lekan, however, focused on the public rejection, commenting: “Some guys go dey embarrass themselves in the name of proposing to a useless gender that doesn’t know your value.”
Sharing his own experience, Godwin wrote: “I propose to my babe na inside club when we don high as we sit down Dey vibe to the music I just tell her mama bring your hand she stretch am I put ring inside tell her would you be my wife and she said yes gladly. Who love you no go stress you.”
Adewale added: “After watching this some niggs will still choose to disgrace themselves… If I can’t do it with less than 5 people watching, ain’t do no shi.”
