A teenage girl has reportedly been r@ped in a wooded area of a city in broad daylight, as police released CCTV footage in their hunt for a suspect.
Officials received reports that a girl had been att@cked in Gleadless Valley, Sheffield, at around 5:25 p.m. on June 18.
CCTV footage has now revealed a man South Yorkshire Police are hoping to speak to in connection with the incident. He is described as a Black man with a large build, around 5ft 6ins tall.
At the time the image was taken, he was wearing dark burgundy trousers, a black hooded jacket, a black rucksack, and white trainers with grey or black markings.
Superintendent Martin Simcock said that the force understands the news of this incident will cause concern within the local area, noting that every available resource is being utilised as enquiries continue, including officers who will be present in the community during patrols designed to prevent further offences.
He urged anyone who was in the area at the time and saw someone matching the description in the image to come forward, stressing that such a person could hold important information that may help progress the investigation.
Police have asked anyone with information to contact them by calling 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
