The Oyo State Police Command has arrested four suspects over alleged involvement in cultism, armed robbery, and other criminal activities.
The suspects, Farouq Ariyo, Yusuf Tajudeen, Adebayo Awosemo, and Salawu Sarafa, were arrested following credible intelligence that a gang had been terrorising residents across parts of the state.
Police said operatives were deployed to identified locations after receiving the intelligence, leading to the arrest of the suspects and their subsequent detention for investigation and prosecution.
The Command said the operation, carried out at about 6:00am on Friday, also led to the recovery of a locally made pistol and other suspected dangerous items.
It added that the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
The police urged residents to continue providing credible information to assist security operations and help curb criminal activities in the state.
It reaffirmed its commitment to tackling crime and ensuring that offenders are brought to justice.
The Command also cautioned youths against involvement in cultism, armed robbery, and other criminal activities, urging them to embrace lawful behaviour and contribute positively to the development of the state.
