Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Friday, June 12, that a final, agreed-upon text of a peace deal has been reached, adding that Islamabad is working closely with both sides to finalize the next steps.

In a statement on X, the Prime Minister said Pakistan was aware of an “incessant misinformation campaign” being waged by those seeking to sabotage the peace deal, even as mediation efforts by the country continue.

“Setting aside the noise, we can confirm that a final, agreed upon text of the peace deal has been reached and Pakistan is now working closely with both sides to finalize the next steps,” the Prime Minister said.

His statement came just after Iran’s Foreign Minister tweeted that the media should refrain from entering speculation about content of mediation deal.

He said that the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding has “never been closer” to completion, while cautioning against media speculation regarding the contents of the proposed agreement.

The minister said the details of the memorandum would be disclosed only after its finalization, adding that the government would continue to follow a “responsible and transparent approach” and share all relevant information with the public in due course.
