An older video and a photo of Annie from the same occasion were shared online. Notably, there’s been a lot of public interest in Annie and her husband Tommaso Cioni since they were among the last people to see Nancy before she went missing. Authorities believe Nancy was taken from her home near Tucson, Arizona.

The octogenarian had had dinner with Annie the night before she was reported missing. Tommaso had then reportedly dropped her home, making the two among the last people to see Nancy before she was taken. Thus, while authorities have made it clear that none of the Guthrie family members are suspects in the case, interest in the two has continued.

Amid this, the old photo and clip has come to light. The picture was shared by a self-styled investigator, Jonathan Lee Riches or JLR, who wrote “Annie Guthrie speaking at Sofia University Global Conference, where she discussed how the field of transpersonal psychology intersects with creative writing and craft of attention. Where is Nancy Guthrie?”. You can see the photo here.

The clip, meanwhile, was shared by someone who wrote “2025 Annie Guthrie”. You can see the video here.

What Annie Guthrie said in resurfaced video

Annie Guthrie was speaking about transpersonal psychology – a modern branch which seeks to combine spiritual and transcendent experiences with traditional psychological concepts.

In the resurfaced video, Anni could be heard saying she came from a ‘creative background, not necessarily a transpersonal background.’ Notably, Annie is a poet and has published her work.

“I was amazed and really happy to find a context for something I’ve been developing in a different field,” she said. Annie added that it was ‘really exciting’ to ‘understand that there are already terms out there for this practice that I’ve been developing’.

Annie noted in the old clip that this was what she’d be thinking about. “So, where do I go from here?” Annie asked in context of transpersonal psychology. “How do I blend what I know with this new field of inquiry,” she added.

Acknowledging it was a new field for her, she expressed intent to delve into the works of fellow panelists. She also sought to explore how transpersonal psychology would tie in or influence her creative writing.

While many noted that Annie’s speech was from before when Nancy had disappeared, several others wondered why she was not speaking up as much after the kidnapping. However, the family has released statements in the wake of the kidnapping, which have either come from Annie’s brother Camron, or sister and TODAY show host, Savannah Guthrie.
