Mother and Baby Rescued in Kogi Operation but Mystery Still Surrounds Missing Victims

Relief swept through a community after a dramatic overnight development led to the safe return of a kidnapped mother and her infant, following a tense operation involving local security forces and the military.

Mrs. Idowu Kemi Titilayo and her four-month-old baby, who were abd¥cted during the band!t att@ck on Ijalu Compound in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State on June 3, 2026, have been successfully rescued and reunited with their family.

According to sources, the mother and infant regained their freedom in the early hours of this morning at approximately 1:00 a.m., following a joint operation carried out by local Egbe security operatives working alongside the Nigerian Army.

However, the relief is tempered by the fact that two of her other children and a man identified as JB, a shoemaker by trade, remain in the hands of their captors.

Efforts to secure the release of the remaining abd¥cted individuals are said to be actively ongoing.
