The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the ongoing phase 3 of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise has been extended to allow more time for the public to register and update their voter information ahead of the general elections.
INEC informed that the exercise has now been shifted till July 10, 2026 to all citizens of age 18 and above who are eligible to perform their franchise.
The electoral body, on Monday, added that the extension provides ample time for those who have not yet registered or who need to make corrections to their voter details.
.
INEC reiterated its commitment to transparency and inclusiveness, stressing that the exercise is crucial for strengthening Nigeria’s democracy.
Citizens were encouraged to take advantage of the window to secure their PVCs, which remain the only valid instrument for voting during elections.
