A lady has stirred reactions on social media after declaring that she would maintain a relationship with her partner’s family even if their romantic relationship ended because of his bad character.
The woman made the statement in a video that has since attracted attention online, where she explained that a strong bond with a partner’s family would be enough reason for her to remain connected to them after a breakup.
Family ties beyond romance
According to her, the actions of a romantic partner should not determine whether she continues to associate with relatives who have treated her well.
Speaking in the video, she suggested that if a breakup occurred because of her partner’s conduct, she would not see any reason to cut ties with family members who had accepted and cared for her.
“If we are dating and your family love me, your mother love me, your brother love me, your father love me, your sister love me, everybody love me in the family, and we eventually break up because of your bad character, see, I’m going to stay with your family. I’ll become one of your siblings because I’ll not leave a good family because of your bad character, guy. I will not.”
Social media users react
The comment quickly generated discussion among social media users, with many sharing differing views on whether former partners should remain close to each other’s families after a relationship ends.
The video has added to ongoing conversations about family relationships, emotional bonds and boundaries after breakups, with users divided over whether such connections should continue once a romantic relationship comes to an end.
