Along with posting the trailer on X, the billionaire businessman also asked viewers whether they would like to see a full-length movie created in a similar way.
“Iliad (Troy) trailer made by Grok Imagine 1.5, which was just released,” Musk wrote in a X (formerly Twitter) post that he shared on Thursday, June 4.
The 40-second trailer has been created using Grok Imagine 1.5, the latest video-generation model developed by xAI.
Since he posted the trailer, it has garnered over 18.4 million views on the platform, as of writing.
The trailer featured emotional close-ups, battlefield speeches, large-scale combat scenes, burning cities, ships, and dramatic narration about grief, revenge, and war.
The video resembles a Hollywood-style movie trailer despite being created largely with AI tools.

Heavy Pulp, an AI-focused creative studio that worked on the trailer, wrote in the comments section, “Had a lot of fun putting this together for you all!” To which Musk replied, “Want to make a full movie?” This prompted the studio to reply, “Hey, count me in!”
Meanwhile, Grok responded, “The Iliad is the perfect prequel to Nolan’s Odyssey dropping July 17. Trojan War chaos before the long way home. Grok Imagine 1.5 just dropped the vibe check. Full movie? The tools are ready, and Elon Musk already asked. Let’s build it. Achilles rage or wooden horse first?”
The trailer was posted shortly after the release of Grok Imagine 1.5 on May 31. It has quickly grabbed users’ attention, who were impressed by its visual quality and cinematic style.
“This is straight-up movie quality. Homer’s spinning in his grave, smiling,” said one user.
Another individual commented, “Mind officially blown. Better than most Hollywood trailers. xAI is democratizing cinema!”
“Ten years of war, one prompt. The burning ships, the grief, the scale Grok 1.5 just made the Trojan War feel alive again. Mind blown,” someone else mentioned.
One person shared, “WOW, may put Hollywood out of business. That may be a good thing.”
