Eid-el-Kabir Patrol: FRSC Boss Commends Operatives, Warns Motorists Against Traffic Violations
The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has commended personnel deployed for the ongoing Eid-el-Kabir Special Patrol Operations across the country for their dedication, professionalism and outstanding performance in ensuring safer roads during the festive period.
Mohammed gave the commendation after receiving reports from supervisory teams dispatched from the FRSC National Headquarters to monitor the nationwide special operations.
According to him, the commitment, resilience and gallantry displayed by the operatives have contributed significantly to the successes recorded so far in maintaining traffic order and enhancing safety on the nation’s highways.
The Corps Marshal expressed satisfaction with the general conduct and operational efficiency of the personnel but urged them to sustain the momentum throughout the duration of the exercise.
He noted that the achievements recorded during the special patrol operations were made possible through the unwavering commitment of FRSC personnel and the cooperation of road users.
Mohammed therefore appealed to motorists and other road users to continue supporting the Corps by complying with traffic regulations and adhering strictly to road safety advisories issued during the festive season.
Reviewing the progress of the operations nationwide, the FRSC boss expressed confidence in the capacity of personnel to consolidate the gains already achieved. He, however, raised concerns over the continued involvement of some motorists in dangerous traffic violations capable of undermining road safety efforts.
He specifically warned against speeding, dangerous overtaking, overloading, the use of mobile phones while driving and other traffic infractions, describing them as major causes of road traffic crashes across the country.
The Corps Marshal urged all road users to exercise patience, maintain discipline and comply with established traffic regulations, stressing that road safety remains a collective responsibility.
He reminded motorists that “the road does not forgive mistakes,” and called for greater caution and adherence to safety rules while travelling during and after the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
Mohammed also reassured Nigerians of the Corps’ commitment to ensuring a safe and hitch-free post-Eid-el-Kabir celebration through sustained enforcement, public enlightenment campaigns, effective traffic management and prompt rescue services on highways nationwide.
