A man has narrated how he lost access to ₦3 million he lent a close friend to support his proof of funds for relocation to Canada.
Man borrow money from wife for friend’s trip
According to the man, he obtained the money from his wife because the friend was someone both of them knew well.
He explained that after his friend arrived in Canada, he was informed that the money had been sent to the friend’s father with instructions to return it to him.
However, the arrangement reportedly took an unexpected turn when the man’s father refused to release the money.
Friend’s father refuses to return money
The man claimed that the elderly man insisted his son should be responsible for repaying the debt and used the money to purchase a new motorcycle.
He said his efforts to recover the funds have so far been unsuccessful.
Recounting the incident, he said:
“I borrowed a friend ₦3 million to add to the proof of funds he needed to travel to Canada. I got the money from my wife, and because this friend is a close pal, my wife knows him very well.”
He further stated:
“To cut the long story short, the dad has refused to release the money, saying his son—my friend—should find a way to refund me himself. Meanwhile, the man has used the money to buy a brand-new motorcycle.”
Speaking on his attempt to resolve the issue, he added:
“I even called the man to explain how urgently I need the money, but he simply hissed and hung up on me. Honestly, I’m so pissed.”
