Bandits have abducted the wife and son of an All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman in Kebbi State, Yusuf Alhasan.
The gunmen reportedly stormed the APC chairman’s residence and forcefully took away the two family members before fleeing to an unknown location.
It was gathered that the abduction reportedly occurred early Monday morning around 3:20 am when the bandits invaded Alhasan’s residence in the Low-Cost area of Yauri and whisked the victims away.
A security source familiar with the development said the attackers carried out the operation without encountering any resistance.
According to the source, efforts to establish the whereabouts of the abducted woman and her son were still ongoing as uncertainty surrounded their safety and possible release.
Meanwhile, as of the time of filing this news report, neither security agencies nor the Kebbi State Government had issued an official statement on the incident.
However, the attack has renewed concerns about the security situation in parts of Kebbi State, where residents have repeatedly faced cases of kidnapping and attacks by armed groups in recent years.
