Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has described himself as a divinely appointed goalkeeper, tasked with protecting the state from political opponents seeking to unseat him.
The governor made the remarks in a statement on his verified social media page, drawing confidence from what he described as divine affirmation and the track record of his administration.
His comments come as he has already declared his intention to seek re-election in the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
Adeleke highlighted his administration’s accomplishments across infrastructure, workers’ welfare, education, healthcare, and grassroots empowerment, asserting that the record speaks for itself.
He also announced plans to tour every town and village in the state ahead of the election to present his achievements and unveil an updated Five Point Agenda for a greater Osun.
The governor called on the opposition to focus on issues rather than personal attacks, urging voters to base their decisions on facts, performance, and truth.
He expressed strong optimism about his chances, stating that with divine backing and the support of the people, victory was assured and the continuity of his Imole administration was imminent.
