Wike schedules 31-day projects’ commissioning in FCT
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has announced plans for a 31-day commissioning programme to mark President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s third anniversary in office.
Wike disclosed this during a political event in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where he spoke about ongoing development projects in Abuja.
He said the Federal Capital Territory would witness a continuous commissioning of completed projects over a 31-day period.
According to him, the exercise will feature the unveiling of major road networks, public infrastructure, and city development projects across the capital.
He explained that the initiative is designed to highlight the achievements recorded under the Tinubu administration in the FCT.
Focus on infrastructure delivery
Wike noted that the projects lined up for commissioning reflect significant improvements in Abuja’s infrastructure.
He said the developments include road construction, urban renewal projects, and public service facilities aimed at improving transportation and living standards in the capital city.
The minister maintained that the progress being recorded demonstrates effective leadership and strong political commitment to development.
Response to critics
Wike also dismissed criticisms of his administration, insisting that the scale of ongoing projects in the FCT speaks for itself.
He challenged critics to assess the level of infrastructure development rather than rely on political commentary.
According to him, his focus remains on delivering visible results and improving the capital city’s infrastructure.
Political remarks and reconciliation
Beyond the FCT projects, Wike also addressed political issues in Rivers State, where he extended what he described as forgiveness to his political opponents.
He urged aggrieved politicians to return and work together for the progress of the state, saying continued division would not be helpful.
Despite the reconciliation message, he reaffirmed the strength of his political structure in Rivers State.
Warning to external interference
Wike cautioned against any external interference in Rivers State politics, warning that attempts to destabilise the state would be resisted.
He said his political network remains strong and prepared for future electoral contests.
The minister added that his supporters remain focused, vigilant, and committed to sustaining their political influence while continuing development efforts in Abuja.
