Troops Arrest Suspected Terrorist Logistics Suppliers, Collaborator in Kogi Operations
Troops of 12 Brigade have arrested three suspected terrorist collaborators, including alleged logistics suppliers and a suspected linkman to a notorious terrorist leader, during separate security operations in Kogi State.
Security sources disclosed that the operations were conducted on May 21 as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal support networks and curb terrorist activities across vulnerable communities in the state.
In one of the operations, troops arrested two suspected logistics suppliers in the Felele general area of Lokoja Local Government Area at about 7:30 p.m.
According to the sources, the suspects, who reportedly disguised themselves as marabouts, were allegedly involved in supplying logistics and providing spiritual support to terrorists operating within the Agbaja forest axis and adjoining communities.
Items recovered from the suspects included four vigilante identification cards, two National Identification Number (NIN) slips, two ATM cards, two machetes, two mobile phones, assorted pain relief drugs, herbal medicines and a cash sum of ₦21,000.
In a separate operation conducted earlier at about 6:00 p.m., troops deployed at the Adankolo blocking position arrested another suspect at Agbadu community in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area.
Preliminary investigations reportedly linked the suspect to a suspected terrorist leader identified as Kachallah Auta.
Security sources said further examination of the suspect’s mobile phone revealed frequent communication with the alleged terror kingpin, raising concerns over possible involvement in coordinated criminal activities.
Troops recovered one mobile phone and a cash sum of ₦1,500 from the suspect during the arrest.
All three suspects are currently in military custody for further investigation and necessary action.
Security authorities said operations have been intensified across Kogi State and adjoining areas to dismantle criminal networks, disrupt terrorist support structures and enhance public safety.
