…Says he’s ‘pillar of credible communication’ in Renewed Hope agenda
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, on his 60th birthday, lauding his exceptional contributions to public communication, media development and national service.
In a goodwill message marking the milestone on May 2, 2026, the President described Idris as an “accomplished communicator, seasoned public relations expert and respected media entrepreneur” whose influence had continued to shape the country’s information industry.
The president said the minister had brought “finesse, credibility, and gravitas” to government communication, particularly in articulating the policies and programmes of the administration.
According to him, the Information Minister has demonstrated remarkable diligence and clarity in conveying the vision of the government to Nigerians.
The president acknowledged the minister’s longstanding reputation in the media and public relations industry, citing his role as founder and publisher of Blueprint Newspapers and leadership of a thriving public relations and broadcast media enterprise.
He said the minister’s professional pedigree and institutional experience have strengthened the administration’s engagement with the public.
President Tinubu recalled the minister’s tenure as General Secretary of the Newspaper Proprietors’ Association of Nigeria, stressing that his service in the body reflected a deep commitment to national development and partnership within the media ecosystem.
The president commended the minister for what he described as “unwavering dedication” in promoting the government’s Renewed Hope agenda across the country, emphasising that the minister had remained steadfast in ensuring that citizens are well-informed about on-going reforms and initiatives.
“As Mohammed celebrates this milestone birthday, I join his family and friends in wishing him more years of good health and strength as he continues to serve the nation,” he said.
