NDC primaries: Kwankwasiyya hails Senator Hanga for stepping down for Gawuna

The Kwankwasiyya Movement under the leadership of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has commended the Senator representing Kano Central, Sani Hanga, for stepping down for former Kano Deputy Governor Yusuf Gawuna during the recently concluded National Democratic Congress (NDC) primaries.

This is contained in statement signed by the  Kwankwasiyya Movement’s spokesperson, Habibu Sale Mohammed, and made available to newsmen in Kano on Saturday.

The Kwankwasiyya Movement members have since joined the NDC in the state, under which it’s members are contesting.

“We particularly wish to commend the exemplary statesmanship displayed by Senator Rufa’i Sani Hanga, who graciously stepped aside and supported the emergence of His Excellency Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna as the consensus candidate for his senatorial seat. His sacrifice and commitment to the collective interest of the movement represent the highest ideals of political maturity and loyalty.

“We equally appreciate the former Governor of Kano State and former Senator, Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, for accepting the decision of the movement to present the immediate past President of the Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO), Hon. Nasir Batayya, as the Senatorial candidate for Kano South. Such a display of discipline and respect for collective decisions further strengthens the unity and cohesion of our movement.

“We also extend our gratitude to the numerous aspirants across the state who either stepped aside for fellow members or accepted responsibilities different from those they initially sought, all in the interest of building a stronger and more formidable political platform. Their sacrifices will remain a proud chapter in the history of the Kwankwasiyya Movement” the statement declares.

The Movement further congratulated all candidates who emerged through the consensus process, in particular, the Governorship Candidate, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, whose emergence, the movement says, reflects the confidence reposed in him by the leadership and members of the movement, as well as all the legislators.

“As we move closer to the elections, we call upon all members and supporters of the movement to remain united, focused, and committed to our shared vision.

“The spirit of sacrifice and discipline demonstrated throughout this process must continue to guide our actions as we work collectively towards securing victory for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and delivering a better future for the people of Kano State” the statement added.
