Man Utd vs Liverpool: Champions League football on the line in EPL clash

It has been a rough season for Liverpool.

The Premier League champions were supposed to steamroll everyone to the title again, after they reinforced heavily in the summer.

Names like Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Hugo Ekitike and Milos Kerkez arrived at Anfield, in a bid to defend their trophy.

But despite a flying start, the Reds arrive at Manchester United on Sunday, looking to make sure they qualify for next season’s Champions League.

There is nothing else on the line for both teams.

United have been out of all competitions for a long time, and will play a total of 40 fixtures in total. For context, Arsenal have played almost 60 and might have six more.

The Red Devils blew hot and cold under Amorim Ruben, but since Michael Carrick’s arrival, they have looked a different team.

A draw would be enough to seal a top-five spot for United, but let’s not forget this is a Derby.

Both teams want to fight for pride and bragging rights, but more importantly, the preparations for next season start now.
