The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye, has said the outcome of Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election has already been determined by God.
Adeboye made the remark on Saturday during a workers’ meeting at the Redemption City along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, noting that human efforts alone cannot decide who becomes president.
“The next president has already been decided by God who owns the universe. It is not something we can determine by human effort alone. The will of God will be done,” he said.
He urged Nigerians not to be overwhelmed by political tension as the elections approach, stressing that the country’s future ultimately rests in God’s hands.
“I never said we should not be involved in politics, but we must understand that God has the final say in the affairs of men,” he added.
The cleric encouraged citizens to remain calm, prayerful and law-abiding while participating in the democratic process.
Responding to comments by activist Omoyele Sowore, Adeboye clarified that his leadership role is limited to RCCG, noting that the Christian Association of Nigeria represents Christians nationwide.
“I don’t want to be the father of all Christians in Nigeria. I am satisfied with being the father of RCCG. That is enough assignment for me,” he said.
Adeboye also dismissed claims that RCCG is aligned with the ruling All Progressives Congress, maintaining that the church remains non-partisan.
He added that while politicians are free to attend services, they are not allowed to use the altar for political campaigns.
The cleric further stated that he would not hesitate to join a peaceful protest if directed by CAN, recalling that he participated in one during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
