The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, Thursday in Bauchi said operational readiness in the Nigerian Air force is non-negotiable and tasked formation commanders to ensure their units always maintain the highest levels of preparedness.
Speaking during his operational visit to the Special Operations Command in Bauchi, the air force chief insisted that all formations commanders must lead with courage and accountability as Air Force under his leadership will not tolerate complacency.
He said the force headquarters remains committed to equipping personnel with the necessary training, equipment and support infrastructure for mission success as investments in modern platforms, intelligence capabilities, and communication systems are being complemented by mission-oriented training and professional development.
He said: “At the headquarters, we are intensifying efforts to enhance capability across the Nigerian Air Force. We are leveraging engagements with international partners to fast-track the integration of modern platforms and advanced intelligence systems into our operations.
“Training programmes for these platforms are already underway, and I urge all personnel to prepare to operate and maintain these sophisticated assets effectively.
“The security environment remains dynamic, demanding that we remain agile, precise, and relentless in our operations.
“An example of our progress is the strengthening of our international defence footprint. I am particularly pleased with the professionalism demonstrated by the Special Operations Command in facilitating the arrival and integration of United States troops recently deployed to Bauchi. Your role in assisting our partners in settling in and adapting to this environment has been exemplary.
“This seamless integration is a testament to your hospitality and organisational discipline, ensuring that our collaborative training and counter-terrorism efforts commence on a foundation of mutual trust and tactical alignment.”
