The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Ondo State has announced the commencement of the Claims and Objections exercise for the second phase of the Continuous Voter Registration, CVR.
According to a statement issued by the commission by Ogunseye Olayinka, Head of Department, Voter Education and Publicity on behalf of Dr Mutiu Agboke, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, the exercise will begin on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, and end on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
The commission said the display of the Preliminary Register of Voters would take place daily between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. at all 18 local government area offices across the state.
INEC explained that the exercise is designed to allow individuals who newly registered, applied for transfer, or updated their biodata to verify their details.
It added that the process would also enable eligible persons to report omissions or errors for necessary correction.
The commission stated that the exercise provides an opportunity for members of the public to raise objections to ineligible entries in the register.
Such entries, it noted, “include underage registrants, deceased persons, and non-citizens whose names may have appeared in the Preliminary Register of Voters.”
INEC said “the exercise is part of efforts to ensure the integrity and credibility of the voters’ register ahead of future elections.”
The statement noted that the commission, under the leadership of Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Agboke, is committed to promoting public engagement in its activities.
“The commission is poised to ensure robust public engagement to enhance participation and awareness.
“INEC therefore appeals to eligible citizens and registered voters in Ondo State to take advantage of the exercise,” the statement added.
