Gasoline leakage rocks Ogun college, 31 hospitalised


A fuel leakage has occurred on the Our Woman of Apostles Secondary Faculty in Ijebu Ode, Ogun state, shortly after the meeting session on Wednesday April 1, 2026.

The leakage left about 30 college students and a instructor hospitalised, on the Ijebu Ode normal Hospital after experiencing difficulties in respiration. 

Talking on the incident, the Vice Principal, Mrs Adeola Borogun, stated a wierd chemical scent was perceived inside the college premises, which instantly prompted an emergency response.

“A number of college students started vomiting and fainting, forcing the varsity administration to name for ambulances from the State Basic Hospital, Ijebu Ode”, she stated.

In the meantime, the State Commissioner for Atmosphere, Ola Oresanya, whereas confirming the incident, nevertheless dismissing earlier hypothesis of an explosion within the college premises.
