Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, former governor of Kano, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Celebration (PDP).
Shekarau introduced his resignation in a letter dated April 19, 2026 and addressed to the PDP chairman of Giginyu ward in Nassarawa LGA of Kano state.
“Settle for this letter please as discover of my resignation from my place as member of the Peoples Democratic Celebration (PDP) with impact from right now.
“This resolution follows broad and in depth deliberations inside my political group, to pursue our political profession in a distinct political occasion.
“I thanks for being a great chief, and pray that Allah will proceed to information you in your stewardship,” he stated.
