The Edo state command of the Federal Street Security Corps (FRSC) has confirmed a deadly street accident wherein 12 individuals misplaced their lives and 14 others sustained accidents alongside the Auchi–Ewu–Benin street.
Blueprint.ng gathered that the accident occurred at Egono group when a truck conveying items and passengers reportedly skidded off the street and tumbled.
The truck, stated to be heading in the direction of Benin Metropolis, was reportedly concerned in a wrongful overtaking manoeuvre at excessive velocity when the crash occurred.
About 37 passengers had been stated to be onboard on the time of the accident.
The deadly crash reportedly claimed 12 lives on the spot, whereas 14 others sustained various levels of accidents.
Spokesperson for the FRSC in Edo state, Patricia Onwochei, attributed the accident to wrongful overtaking.
She defined that the influence of the crash was extreme as a result of extreme velocity mixed with the automobile’s combined load of passengers and items.
Onwochei added that one of many deceased had been buried, whereas 11 our bodies had been deposited at a mortuary.
