The Director-Basic of Developmental Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN), Dr Seye Oyelade, Thursday said that stakeholders from the area at the moment are working to organize operational framework for the institution of state police.
He said this whereas addressing journalists on a technical session, tagged “Foundational Imperatives for State Police in South West Nigeria,” held on the Dipo Famakinwa Convention Room, DAWN Fee headquarters, Cocoa Home, Dugbe, Ibadan.
He said that the technical session held along side safety consultants and different related stakeholders met on the necessity to develop an operational framework for state policing to checkmate reported instances of kidnapping, banditry and different heinous acts within the South west area.
He stated the session was convened in response to rising momentum on the federal stage for the creation of state police, saying so as to not be caught unaware, the stakeholders from the area determined to satisfy and put together an operational framework.
