Peter Obi leads protesters to NASS over e-transmission of outcomes 


Protesters on Monday stormed the doorway of the Nationwide Meeting Advanced in Abuja, demanding readability on the necessary digital transmission of election outcomes amid controversies surrounding the continued Electoral Act modification.

 

The demonstrators had vowed to confront lawmakers over studies that the Senate rejected a clause requiring the necessary digital transmission of election outcomes. Whereas the higher chamber has issued clarifications denying any complexity in its place, protesters insist that the laws explicitly embody the phrase “real-time digital transmission.”

 

A 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, was seen within the entrance of a number of the civil society members condemning Senate’s rejection of digital transmission of outcomes.

 

A heavy safety presence was deployed on the scene, with personnel from the Nigeria Police Power, Nigerian Military, and the Nigeria Safety and Civil Defence Corps sustaining legislation and order because the demonstration unfolded.
