An early morning hearth outbreak on Wednesday gutted a part of the Electrical Home equipment Market in Nnewi, Nnewi North Native Authorities Space of Anambra State, destroying property value thousands and thousands of naira.
The hearth was reported to have began at about 9:00 a.m., prompting a swift response from the Anambra State Fireplace Service, which deployed personnel and gear to include the blaze.
Chief Fireplace Officer of the Anambra State Fireplace Service, Mr. Chukwudi Chiketa, confirmed the incident to journalists, explaining that the inferno affected 5 outlets positioned on the higher flooring of a one-storey constructing housing electronics and electrical home equipment.
“The affected constructing is a one-storey construction. The inferno affected about 5 outlets upstairs, which include electronics and elements,” Chiketa stated.
He famous that the fireplace had been efficiently managed and that there was no lack of life.
“The nice a part of it’s that it has been managed, and there was no lack of life. Loads of outlets upstairs and downstairs had been saved,” he added.
Chiketa stated the reason for the fireplace was but to be decided, assuring that investigations could be performed to determine what led to the outbreak.
He urged residents and merchants to stay vigilant and undertake hearth security measures, together with the set up of fireplace extinguishers of their outlets as a precautionary step earlier than the arrival of emergency responders.
