2026 FCT polls: INEC chair duties transport unions on seamless logistics 

Barely three days to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) space council election, the Impartial Nationwide Electoral Fee (INEC) warned the transport unions towards the hijack of election supplies on Saturday.

The fee acknowledged that it was zero-tolerant to excuses whether or not real or not, in addition to deliberate or non-deliberate errors, including that it could not desire a scenario the place individuals would make errors and apologise.

Talking at a gathering with the transport unions, INEC chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, had stated Monday that the personnel working with the unions can be the attention of the fee to make sure the supply of the transport logistics. 

Amupitan stated: “You understand, there are some excuses which can be real. However, we don’t even need any excuses, whether or not real or not real. There are some excuses or errors, errors that aren’t deliberate.

“We don’t need non-deliberate excuses or errors, inconsiderate or deliberate errors. As a result of, some individuals will intentionally make errors and apologise. We don’t need that.

“So, you will be the attention of the fee as you’re employed with the unions to make sure the supply of the transport logistics. Let me say that you’ve got a task to play. You aren’t simply coming due to the advantages.

“Federal Capital Listing is the center of Nigeria. So, the eyes of the entire world, not simply Nigeria, must be on us. So, we don’t wish to start to say, oh, it’s this union that has not carried out its personal obligation,” he stated.
