The Minister of Women Affairs, Hajia Imaan Suliaman-Ibrahim, has met with key scholars and alumni of the Institute of strategic and Development Communication, ISDEVCOM, to discuss strategic communication, public relations, and development initiatives.Speaking at the gathering, the National President of ISDEVCOM Scholars and Alumni Association, Dr. George Ndukwu, emphasized the association’s role in advancing development communication in Nigeria. “Our commitment is to ensure that communication serves as a tool for national development, shaping policies and driving positive change,” he said.The lead delegate and Registrar of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Chief Uzoma Onyegbadue, stressed the importance of clear and strategic communication in governance.He stressed that public relations plays a key role in bridging the gap between the government and the people, adding that effective communication fosters trust and engagement.On her part, the Vice President of ISDEVCOM Scholars and Alumni Association and Chairperson of the Local Organizing Committee, Juliana Taiwo-Obalonye, reaffirmed the association’s dedication to promoting media advocacy and professional development.”We are committed to fostering best practices in public relations and media engagement to ensure that communication remains a powerful force for societal transformation,” she stated.Also on the ISDEVCOM Scholars and Alumni Association team were Chizoba Ogbeche, Subcommittee Head for Media and Publicity at the 6th conference; Ekas Esosa Asielue, the association’s Financial Secretary; and Mrs. Janet Samuel, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Kogi State on Electronic Media, First Lady’s Office.
