A widespread social media outage affected both Facebook and Instagram on Tuesday morning, leaving thousands of users unable to access key features of the platforms.
According to Downdetector, reports of issues with Instagram began surfacing around 9 a.m. ET, followed by similar complaints from Facebook users.
Instagram users reported that the outage primarily impacted the comments section of posts. Although stories and pictures still displayed comments, users were unable to view or interact with them.
