LAGOS, Nigeria — The Lagos State Government has launched an international partnership that has the potential to completely transform Africa’s creative and tourist scene in a spectacular show of ambition. Lagos’ authorities have set the groundwork for what many view as a daring move to combine art, technology, and tourism in one of the most vibrant cities in the world during a high-level meeting with the mayor of San Francisco and senior executives from Empire Africa.
The meeting, led by the Honourable Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, saw Lagos’ delegation—bolstered by colleagues from the Ministries of Innovation, Science, and Technology, and Transportation—engage with San Francisco’s top officials.
