In a major political shake-up, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and former governor Ifeanyi Okowa have officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The announcement followed a closed-door meeting with political stakeholders at the Government House in Asaba on Wednesday.
Confirming the development, the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, said the decision was the outcome of extensive consultations within the PDP camp in the state. Alongside Oborevwori, several commissioners and key political figures from the state also declared their allegiance to the ruling party.
