A Federal High Court in Port Harcourt has scheduled May 21, 2025, to begin hearing a landmark constitutional suit filed against President Bola Tinubu and key federal institutions over the controversial suspension of the Rivers State Governor, Deputy Governor, and House of Assembly members.
The suit, filed by Belema Briggs and several other plaintiffs, names President Tinubu, the National Assembly, the Attorney General of the Federation Lateef Fagbemi, the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, and the Nigerian Navy as respondents.
