Traders at Ekumi Plaza, Ariaria International Market in Aba, specializing in hair and beauty accessories, have voiced their desperation over the prolonged closure of their shops by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).


Earlier this month, NAFDAC’s zonal office shut down several sections of the market after discovering fake, unregistered, and re-dated drugs in some shops. However, the hair and beauty accessories traders argue that they have been unfairly affected, as their businesses do not involve pharmaceuticals.
