Abia State Governor Alex Otti has directed the State’s Head of Service to review the cases of 154 civil servants from Anambra and other South-East states who were disengaged in 2011 under the “Non-Indigene” policy. This move brings hope to those affected, who have been seeking recall.
The “Non-Indigene” policy, implemented by the previous administration, led to the disengagement of nearly 3,000 non-indigenes from the state’s civil service. Governor Otti has described this policy as discriminatory and illegal.
