Osimhen faces uncertain return as Galatasaray monitor knee injury

Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has provided an update on Victor Osimhen’s recovery from a knee injury, admitting that the club is yet to establish a definite timeline for the Nigerian striker’s return.

Osimhen missed Galatasaray’s Turkish Super Lig encounter against Amed SK on Saturday, which ended in a 4-3 victory for the Turkish champions.

The 27-year-old sustained the injury during Galatasaray’s Champions League victory over Stuttgart, raising concerns about his availability for upcoming fixtures.

Speaking on the striker’s condition, Buruk said the club would continue monitoring his recovery, while expressing hope that the international break would provide additional time for his rehabilitation.

“We don’t have a definite timeline for Osimhen, just an estimate,” Buruk said, according to journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu.

“The international break gave us a two-week gain. We will monitor his progress day by day.”

Galatasaray had earlier announced that Osimhen’s surgery was successful, offering some encouragement over his recovery.

However, the Nigerian international is expected to miss the club’s next league fixture against Samsunspor on Saturday, November 21, 2026.

His absence would be a setback for Galatasaray, given his importance to the team’s attacking options.

The Turkish side will continue assessing his condition before determining when he can return to competitive action.
